Buy a Brick to support Roosevelt Elementary School's Playground Renovation

The Roosevelt Elementary School PTO (PTO) is selling engraved bricks for the modernization of the playground. The PTO is continuing with their year-long fundraising campaign, in partnership with the City of Melrose and the Amazing Grace Golf Tournament to fund the playground renovation, with an estimated completion date of mid-summer 2013. Melrose families, businesses and organizations can show their support with the purchase of an engraved brick! The bricks will form a small walkway on the Roosevelt School grounds and will serve as a permanent reminder of this terrific community effort. To buy a brick, please visit: www.bricksrus.com/order/rosie2013.

Donations can also be made by sending a check to Roosevelt PTO via Honey Rossi, Roosevelt Elementary School, 253 Vinton Street, Melrose, MA 02176.

“Be a part of history and buy a brick and have it engraved with a special message whether you’re a student, friend, neighbor, parent or ‘Rosie’ alumni.” comments Roosevelt Elementary School Principal Grace Basile. “This is a great way to recognize a favorite teacher, demonstrate the support of your family-owned business, or celebrate your family’s love for the Roosevelt Elementary School!”

“The PTO, City of Melrose and the Zinck family has pledged a significant financial contribution to make the new playground a reality. You have until MARCH 1, 2013, to make sure your personalized brick is part of this project.” stated committee co-chair and parent, Cheryl Cook.

“We’re well on our way to our overall goal of $70,000! Many of you and your children made our “Pennies for the Playground” spare change drive a huge success . . . and the total is still growing. Additionally, we have held several successful fundraisers, and we thank all those who supported and organized them. But we still need your help!” Said committee co-chair and parent, Jen McAndrew.

Community Drive: Every penny counts!  “Pennies for the Playground” containers have been distributed to over 50 local businesses for customers to support our efforts. Thus far we have raised over $400.00. “We can’t thank the community enough for their strong support,” said Danielle Champoux Bohnke, parent and co-president of the 2012-13 Roosevelt Elementary School PTO.
