Melrose Public Works is a fast paced, service driven department with ever-changing, multiple priorities and demands. We seek a seasoned manager to join us who is self-motivated, knowledgeable, energetic and pro-active.
Working under the director, the city engineer leads the Engineering Division including scheduling and supervising the development, design and construction of infrastructure projects, grant development, personnel, contracts and vendors; serves as the city’s liaison to boards and commissions and local, regional committees, state and federal agencies; s/he plans, implements short and long range plans.
The qualified candidate has a master's in PE Registration and bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or related field with 10 years experience; thorough knowledge of civil engineering principals, materials, methods, practices and equipment, knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, AutoCAD and GIS Systems; a current and valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a responsible driving record and an ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check.
