Joanne Cotton from Madison Ave of Melrose holds the Gathering Change, Inc. collection jar for supporting Melrose food pantries.
What do you get when you have an empathic business owner who is aware of the hunger issue in Massachusetts? You get an individual such as Joanne Cotton: mother, small business owner and former volunteer at her local food pantry. A resident of Melrose, Ms. Cotton, proprietor of Main Street's Madison Ave of Melrose, Boutique Consignment, has a collection bowl on her store's counter for Gathering Change, Inc., a non-profit organization that collects money to donate to local food pantries and social programs. "As a business owner, I have become (even) more aware of the great need" said Ms. Cotton. "And I love to be connected to the community". What inspires you to get involved in your community? Write Judy Bousquin at: jbousquin@gatheringchangeinc.org. For more information see GCI's website: www.gatheringchangeinc.org. Thank you Joanne Cotton and your generous customers ~ you all collectively support the two food pantries in Melrose!
