Fundraiser to bring LEGO Education kits and spring enrichment programs to The Franklin ECC
Melrose, MA, February 29, 2012 — The Franklin Early Childhood Center (ECC) PTO invites all friends, family, and alumni to its Coast-to-Coast Tasting & Silent Auction at the Mt. Hood Club House on March 30, 2012, from 8pm until 11pm.

The tasting drink menu is being generously donated by The Cellar in Melrose, with hors d’oeurves provided by Mt. Hood. For updates and to order tickets, visit www.FranklinECCpto.com.
Attendees can engage in friendly rivalry as they silently bid on exciting items donated from local businesses, including home improvement services, gym memberships, art and dance lessons, sports tickets, and much more. See a list of the local businesses that already donated.
Money raised will pay for spring enrichment programs, as well as LEGO Education kits for Franklin ECC classrooms, in support of the district-wide STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) initiative.
“Introducing these kits to students at a young age will enhance science and technology learning as well as reinforce literacy and social skills,” according PTO co-president and Sign to Me, Sing to Me instructor, Jill Tully.
“The PTO is pleased to be able to provide these kits, which will have a lasting effect on current and future Franklin ECC students,” said Elizabeth Christopher, PTO co-president.
About The Franklin Early Childhood Center
The Franklin ECC is part of the Melrose Public School systems and educates over 250 childrenfrom Melrose and nearby communities. The school houses the Preschool, Pre-K, Title I and Multi-Age Programs. Curriculum in all programs is designed according to the Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences issued by the Department of Education. Eligible students may receive Speech-Language, Occupational and Physical Therapy services at the Franklin Early Childhood Center facility.
