Melrose Symphony Holds First Annual Family Concert
Sunday, April 1 at 3 pm
FREE For Kids, $10 for Adults
The Melrose Symphony, a cultural jewel north of Boston for over 94 years, will present its first-ever family-friendly concert on Sunday, April 1 at 3 pm at Memorial Hall in downtown Melrose. The concert aims to provide affordable, professional-caliber, live music in an educational and fun setting to the growing population of young families in the area. The concert is free for kids and just $10 for adults.
The 45-minute performance will “introduce” the different instruments of the orchestra with Prokofiev’s musical story of Peter and the Wolf. This audience favorite, accompanied by a narrator, tells the popular children’s story and features a different instrument for each musical “character.” Following the concert, there will be an instrument “petting zoo.” This is an opportunity for audience members to meet with the musicians, ask questions, and try out the instruments of the orchestra.
