Melrose Youth Runner-up in Pumpkin Carving Contest

Daniel Casey of Melrose, a freshman at Boston College High School, was a runner-up in the sixth annual pumpkin-carving contest held at the high school.

“ Every fall,” said Mr. Ulrich Alvarez, Intramural director at BC High, “the BC High Intramural program invites Freshmen students to represent their Intramural House with an entry in the Pumpkin Carving Contest.  The entries are then voted on by the community to determine a winner.  This year five students contributed a spooky gourd. “

This year's winner was Luke Glynn of Natick and the name of his pumpkin design was ‘Jack under the tree’. Close behind was Casey’s entry “Scary guy”.

Boston College High School is a Jesuit, Catholic, college-preparatory school for young men founded in 1863.  The school enrolls approximately 1600 students from more than 100 communities in eastern Massachusetts. For more http://www.bchigh.edu
