Hearts Helping Hearts: The staff at Moderno Salon at 406 Main Street, Melrose, felt their hearts break when they heard that there are Melrose neighbors who do not have enough food to eat week to week. Those neighbors rely on food pantries to help them make ends meet.

Collectively the staff "wanted to help people going through a tough time" said Maria Berardi who initiated collecting change at the salon for Gathering Change, Inc., a local 501c3 charity that raises money for food pantries. 

The money collected at Moderno Salon will assist in supporting the two food pantries in Melrose.
