Volunteers receive 20 percent off their purchases in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Gift Shop excluding flowers and house and beauty products.
Volunteers are paired with an experienced worker after training, which includes customer service and cash register.
A meal ticket is provided for the volunteer to use in the hospital cafeteria.
