5 Things: Aldermen to Review Mayor Dolan's Proposed Pay Increase

Here is the Melrose Patch 5 Things column for Monday, Feb. 4:

1. Mayor's proposed pay raise: The Melrose Board of Aldermen will review Mayor Rob Mayor's proposed 26 percent pay increase during a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at City Hall. The Appropriations Committee passed a motion on Dolan's request for a pay increase during their meeting on Jan. 28.

2. Tax help: Tax counselors will be available to help disabled people and individuals over 60 with any tax questions they may have from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the Milano Senior Center. The tax counselors will be available on Mondays from Feb. 4 through April 8.  

3. Cold temps: It is expected to be sunny with temperatures reaching a high of about 34 during the day Monday, according to the National Weather Services's forecast for Melrose. Temperatures may reach a low of 17 at night, and wind speeds may increase from 10 to 17 miles per hours (mph) to 13 to 18 mph, according to the forecast.
