5 Things: Police Investigate Shooting on West Wyoming Avenue in Melrose

Here are five things to know for Friday, Jan. 11:

1. Shooting in Melrose: A West Wyoming Avenue home was shot multiple times late Thursday night, according to unconfirmed scanner reports. No one was reportedly injured during the incident. 

2. Cloudy day: Friday is expected to be cloudy with a high near 40 during the day, according to the National Weather Service forecast for Melrose. Showers are likely in the evening, while temperatures will dip to a low of about 34, according to the forecast.

3. In case you missed it: After reaching a "historical agreement" with the Melrose Patrolmen's Union, the city of Melrose can expect to see at least three patrolmen and an officer assigned per shift every day, Mayor Rob Dolan said in a press statement on Monday.

4. Food pantry: The Servant's Heart Food Pantry is expected to be open from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday at the Faith Evangelical Church, 200 Franklin St. The food pantry helps more than 200 families in the Melrose region by providing emergency food to people in need.
