Here are five things to know for Wednesday, Jan. 9: 

1. Bright skies: Sunny skies and temperatures in the upper-40s are expected during the day Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Melrose. Temperatures will dip to a low of about 30 at night, according to the forecast.

2. Test your mind: Trivia Night at Absolutely Fabulous is scheduled for 7-10 p.m. Wednesday. Prizes will be awarded to the winners at the free event.

3. Youth group session: Children in grades 7-12 are invited to have dinner together, study the Bible and go on retreats at the First Baptist Church Youth Group meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
