5 Things: Wakefield Man Accused of Sexually Abusing Melrose Area Children to Stand Trial

Here is the Melrose Patch 5 Things column for Wednesday, Jan. 16. 

1. In case you missed it: A Wakefield man accused of sexually abusing Melrose area children is expected to go to trial in December. John Burbine is facing nearly 100 counts related to the sexual abuse allegations.

2. Snow and sleet: Snow, sleet and temperatures in the mid-30s are expected during the day Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Melrose. Temperatures will dip to a low of about 30 at night, according to the forecast.

3. Tap your knowledge: Trivia Night at Absolutely Fabulous is slated for 7-10 p.m. Wednesday. Prizes will be awarded to the winners at the free event.

4. Youth group meets: Children in grades 7-12 are invited to have dinner together, study the Bible and go on retreats at the First Baptist Church Youth Group meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
