Blizzard Snow Totals 26.5 Inches in Melrose

Melrose unofficially received 26.5 inches of snow as a result of the blizzard that smacked the region Friday and Saturday, according to figures released by the National Weather Service.
The numbers published by the NWS came from observers, spotters and media collected during the storm. The Melrose number was recorded at 5:53 a.m. Saturday.
Figures from nearby communities include 30.2 inches for Winchester, 28 inches for Somerville, 26 inches for Cambridge, 24 inches for Medford, 22 inches for Stoneham and 20 inches for Malden.

I saw something on the NWS that said that Melrose had 26.5" as of 6am Saturday. There was definitely well over 2' at my house, although when we drove over to Whip Hill to go snowshoeing, there seemed to be slightly less snow there.

Page 12 of the NWS site linked above has Melrose at 26.5" with a reported date of Saturday.

Thanks for the note, Steve. They must have updated that list at some point today because Melrose was listed much lower on that list than it is now with a different time stamp. I'll update the post. Thanks again.

We had 25" in our front yard at last check before the snow stopped. Actually kind of sad its all melting away today with the sloppy weather..
