Deval Patrick to Visit Franklin Early Childhood Center in Melrose

A look at what's happening Friday in Melrose.

 

Here is the Melrose Patch 5 Things column for Friday, March 15: 

1. Governor to visit Melrose: Gov. Deval Patrick and Secretary of Education Matt Malone will visit the Franklin Early Education Center at 1:15 p.m. Friday to discuss the importance of investments in early education, according to a press statement by the governor's office.

2. Cloudy day: It is expected to be partly cloudy with a chance of sprinkles Friday, and daytime highs will be in the low-40s before becoming cloudier with a low around 27 at night, according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Melrose.

3. Food pantry: The Servant's Heart Food Pantry is expected to be open from 10-11:30 a.m. Friday at the Faith Evangelical Church, 200 Franklin St. The food pantry helps more than 200 families in the Melrose region by providing emergency food to people in need.

4. Office hour: State Rep. Paul Brodeur will be available to meet with constituents from 2-3 p.m. Friday at the Milano Senior Center.
