Why go? Take your family to the temple to partake in a convivial meal with members of Temple Beth Shalom and First Baptist Church. While reservations are not required, they are seriously encouraged. Why go? Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater, drink Applehead beer and down pub fare. There will be live music and drawings for prizes.
Where/When: Stoneham Theatre, 395 Main St., Stoneham/Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m.

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Services at First Congregational Church
Where/When: First Congregational Church, UCC 121 W Foster St., Melrose/5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 24; 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25.
Why go? Take part in the original Christmas tradition.
There is also a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve service at Green Street Baptist Church, a 10:30 a.m. Christmas Day service at the Melrose Church of Christ, among many other events at religious institutions in Melrose.
