Hit-and-Run in Franklin Square Sends Motorcyclist to Mass. General
A car reportedly struck a motorcycle at Main and Franklin streets on Sunday morning, with the motorcycle rider suffering trauma and taken by advanced life support ambulance to the hospital.
A hit-and-run accident at Franklin Square on Sunday morning sent a motorcyclist to Mass. General Hospital in an advanced life support (ALS) ambulance, according to the Melrose Fire Department.
Melrose firefighters reported a motorcycle rider down in the roadway at Main Street and Franklin Street at approximately 9:45 a.m., according to alerts from the Breaking News Network service. Firefighters requested a Cataldo ALS ambulance to take the rider to Mass. General with trauma.
Melrose Fire Capt. Rich Fink said he believed the accident was a hit-and-run, with a car striking the motorcycle and then taking off. Fink confirmed that the motorcyclist was taken to Mass. General by ALS ambulance.
Further details from the Melrose Police Department were not immediately available on Sunday morning.
