Home for the Holidays this weekend is also a chance for Melrosians to shop local and patronize local businesses. We asked Melrose shopkeepers to email us any deals they're holding this weekend. Check out everything that's happening here; and here's what Melrose Patch received:

Offering 10 percent off all gift items including the store's entire line of VOTIVO scented candles, ornaments, soaps, etc. Also, 10 percent off a Holiday arrangement purchased during the tour. Open Friday, Dec. 2. and Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Madison Ave of Melrose

It's a fur sale at this boutique consignment shop—15 percent off furs and coats the entire weekend.

B Yoga Center

The Center will hold is annual open house on Friday, Dec. 2 from 6:30-9:30 pm., offered 20 percent off boutique merchandise and 5, 10 or 15 Clss Cards. There will also be free 10 minute mini Thai Yoga massages for those who sign-up (call 781-475-2520) and one lucky person will win a 5 Class Card, a 90-minute Thai massage, Kulae Mat and mat strap.

Beanstalk Toy Shop and Beansprout Gifts

The Toy Shop will offer 20 percent off all Blue Orange Games and will also be handing out 250 free samples of "Spot It!" over the weekend.

The new sister shop next door, Beansprout Gifts, will offer 20 percent off all holiday cards as well as all boxed stationary.

Maple Street Creations  

Ellie Rush's store holds an open house to coincide with Home for the Holidays, this year on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 1-5 p.m. You can shop, enjoy homemade cookies and hot cocoa, mingle with friends and make a new one too! For every sale of Ellie's "pink" products, all proceeds are given to help fight breast cancer. Also,  100 percent of dog soaps sales are given to a local animal shelter. 

Northern Bank & Trust Company

Busy Bee Bakery

Visit the Bee on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. to warm up with a cup of their family-favorite recipe hot chocolate, made with premium Belgium chocolat,e milk, a secret blend of spices and love. Also, children are invited to the Peterson's family tradition of hand-painting cookies (photos attached). Children can pipe a royal icing design onto their cookie and sprinkle the icing with colred sugar crystals.

Turner's Seafood Grill & Market

From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Turner's famous clam chowder stand will be set up outside, ladeling out doses of chowder goodness.
