Attending some of the city's holiday festivities this weekend? Here's a list of the major ones to get you started:
Friday:
5-6 p.m. Hot dogs and soup at the First Baptist Church
6 p.m. Lighting of holiday tree on City Hall lawn
6:30 p.m. Lighting of Main Street lights and arrival of Santa in front of the YMCA
6-8 p.m. Main Street merchants offer holiday treats and special sales; also, latkes at the Temple Beth Shalom
Saturday:
Trolleys run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the main trolley stop is Cedar Park.

Remember that "Holiday" comes from HOLY DAY. Celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. Most people in Melrose have Christmas trees.

Francis... not clear what your point is.. It might be easy to misinterpret what your intention is by stating "most people in melrose have christmas trees." May I ask?
