Monday, July 9
1:29 a.m. TV found in roadway during check of Penney Road area.
2:14 a.m. Caller reports dumpster fire at Grove Street and Meridian Street.
6:06 a.m. Trash lit on fire on Grove Street.
3:42 p.m. Caller from Myrtle Street said her car’s side view mirror was broken off.
Tuesday, July 10
8:45 a.m. Domestic disturbance on Essex Street.
4:29 p.m. Hit and run accident reported from Hesseltine Avenue.
6:28 p.m. Shoplifter reportedly caught at Rite Aid on Main Street. William J. Ranucci, 35, 43 Jefferson Road, Wakefield, and Michele Lee Curley, 29, homeless, were each arrested on the charge of shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
10:30 p.m. Walk-in report that a man punched his car and spat in his face during a road rage incident at Upham Street and Main Street. Remains under investigation.
Wednesday, July 11
9:53 a.m. Caller reports man passed out in alley by Melrose Animal Clinic on Essex Street. A 40-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
2:24 p.m. Mulch fire at Bank of America on Main Street put out by Fire Department.
6:39 p.m. Walk-in report of damage to property on Grove Street.
Thursday, July 12
12:50 p.m. Graffiti tagging reported at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
4:10 p.m. DPW reports a bus struck a traffic sign on Main Street at Essex Street.
8:37 p.m. Lawnmower reported stolen from Fairmount Street.
Friday, July 13
1:30 p.m. Caller reports house alarm sounding on Derby Road. Officer reports not a security alarm but a clock.
3:19 p.m. Disturbance on Main Street.
3:46 p.m. Caller reports improper dumping on Cargill Street.
3:58 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Fairmount Street.
7:08 p.m. Report of two men and one woman walking on Main Street near Wakefield line drinking alcohol. People located, 41-year-old woman placed under warrant arrest.
Saturday, July 14
4:16 a.m. Disturbance on Myrtle Street. Loud verbal argument.
10:45 a.m. Walk-in report of identity theft from Boston Rock Road.
9:05 p.m. Bike reported stolen from Chestnut Street.
9:46 p.m. Larceny/forgery/fraud reported from Green Street.
Sunday, July 15
11:43 a.m. Possible attempted break-in reported from Bancroft Road.
3:52 p.m. Person reports large knife in water just below footbridge at Lloyd Memorial Pool. Item retrieved by officer.
5:14 p.m. Simonds Road residents returns home and finds broken door.
9:35 p.m. Caller from Upham Street reports free airline ticket scam by mail.
9:49 p.m. Caller reports fight in progress at Mary Foley Park, witness described minor scuffle, people gone upon officer’s arrival.
Other Arrests and Summonses
A 29-year-old woman was issued a summons on Saturday, July 14 on charges of an arrestee furnishing a false name/Social Security number, disguise to obstruct justice and identity fraud.
An 18-year-old Saugus man was issued a summons on Saturday, July 14 on charges of unlicensed operation of a vehicle and a red light violation.
