Monday, June 18
2:37 a.m. Trash dumping discovered behind Hunt’s Photo and Video.
1:32 p.m. Caller from Swains Pond Avenue reported vandalism damage to property.
3:32 p.m. Clerk at Mobil gas station called about intoxicated male in store.
9:23 p.m. Several 911 calls for a fight in front of Gray’s Appliance in Franklin Square.
Tuesday, June 19
9:41 a.m. Animal stuck in car on Lynde Street.
7:29 p.m. Report of past incident of harassment at Melrose Common.
Wednesday, June 20
8:10 a.m. Caller reports vandalism damage to Fred Green Field and concession stand.
9:42 a.m. Caller from Melrose-Wakefield Hospital reports past robbery.
12:20 p.m. Fraud reported from Franklin Street.
2:03 p.m. Rite Aid manager reports he has two shoplifters.
Thursday, June 21
8:14 a.m. Suspicious activity reported at Hunt’s Photo and Video.
Friday, June 22
7:21 a.m. Vehicle window smashed on Bay State Road.
10:48 a.m. Report of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest in Friends Parking Lot. Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said an officer assigned to the area recognized the man as wanted on a warrant and the man ran away. When the officer located him a short distance later and attempted to apprehend him again, he broke away from the officer before finally being caught. The a 23-year-old Melrose resident was issued a summons on charges of assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
10:55 a.m. Sinkhole reported on East Foster Street. DPW notified.
6:59 p.m. Report of fire on Penney Hill Road, possible lightning strike.
Saturday, June 23
6:50 a.m. Vehicle window smashed overnight on Bay State Road.
12:06 p.m. Possible threats reported from Upham Street.
2:02 p.m. Caller reports ammo left on the side of Swains Pond Avenue.
4:29 p.m. Tremont Street resident reports a baby opossum stuck in a rat trap. Animal control contacted.
5:25 p.m. Tree down leaning against wires on First Street. Branches moved to open up roadway.
5:27 p.m. Tree down at Myrtle Street and Cherry Street. Branches moved to side of roadway, cable wire also moved.
5:27 p.m. Tree down on Upham Street at Lincoln Street, DPW responding.
5:41 p.m. Vehicle stuck under Melrose Street bridge due to roadway flooding. Car towed from water.
5:55 p.m. Tree down on vehicle on Norman Road. Officer reports branches caused minor damage, no report needed.
6:01 p.m. Caller reported a tree down at the Beebe Estate. DPW contacted.
Sunday, June 24
12:18 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Lake Avenue.
12:45 p.m. Unwanted guest at Park Street home.
Other Arrests and Summonses
Paul R. Quinn, 35, 44 Sherman St., Revere, was arrested on Tuesday, June 19 on the charge of violating an abuse prevention order, and two warrants.
A 24-year-old Melrose woman was placed under warrant arrest on Tuesday, June 19.
