Monday, May 14
9:29 a.m. Caller states woman is walking in and out of traffic on Lynn Fells Parkway. A 47-year-old Melrose woman was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital and issued a summons on the charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (to wit human saliva).
10:52 a.m. Report from teacher and coach at Melrose High School regarding students getting contacted on Facebook by a organization trying to organize wrestling matches for money. According to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau, no students responded to the message, but notified the teacher that they had been contacted on Facebook. Under investigation.
5:57 p.m. Caller reported two men in a tan pickup truck for 30 minutes acting suspicious on Reading Hill Avenue. A 25-year-old Quincy man was issued a summons on the charge of driving with a license revoked as HTO (habitual traffic offender).
11:51 p.m. Two men fighting in roadway on Lebanon Street. A 56-year-old Boston man and a 39-year-old Melrose man were each issued summonses on the charge of assault and battery.
Tuesday, May 15
10 a.m. Report from Cottage Street of ongoing harassment. A Connecticut man (no age available) was issued a summons on the charge of criminal harassment.
3:59 p.m. Sylvan Street resident reports coming home and finding house broken into.
Wednesday, May 16
1:46 p.m. Report of possible fraud/larceny reported from Hunt’s Photo and Video. A 22-year-old Boston man was issued a summons on the charge of larceny by check of more than $250—$8,499.95 camera.
2:24 p.m. Officer off with wanted person at Upham Street and Altamont Avenue, other units sent to back up and assist with transport. A 29-year-old Peabody man was arrested on a fugitive from justice court warrant.
7:23 p.m. Harassment reported from Frances Street.
Thursday, May 17
5:58 p.m. Hit and run accident reported in Shaw’s parking lot.
9:50 p.m. West Highland Avenue resident reports bat in home.
Friday, May 18
5:58 a.m. Past break into Tom’s Gulf gas station on Upham Street. Side door pried open, apparently with a crowbar left behind at the station, DeCroteau said. Undisclosed amount of money taken from station.
9:16 a.m. Trash dumping reported on Richardson Road.
10:12 p.m. Caller reports large groups and a vehicle in the area of Garden Street. Officer reports small group of friends, parents home. Large group ran from back of house upon arrival of officers.
Saturday, May 19
4:28 a.m. Wheeler Avenue resident reports male attempted to gain entry to her home. Was a neighbor, no charges at this time.
1:29 p.m. Possible rabid raccoon reported from Damon Avenue. Animal Control notified.
6:46 p.m. Caller from Mount Vernon Avenue reports speeding silver Ford Escape delivering pizzas.
8:35 p.m. Manager of Stearns and Hill’s Bistro requested an officer. Person left the bistro.
Sunday, May 20
4:24 a.m. Grove Street resident reported returning home to find the front door kicked open.
1 p.m. Vandalism damage to property reported from Greenwood Street.
