Patch Readers' Choice Hair Salon Winner: Superior Image Barbershop
The barbershop not only won the most votes, but also had the most 5-star reviews on its Places listing.
In this week's Melrose Patch Readers' Choice contest, we asked you to tell us what the best hair salon or barbershop was in the city. Between Monday and Friday morning, 690 people voted in the poll, and many left comments and reviews on the Places business listings.
Out of the two dozen businesses considered, Superior Image Barbershop bested them all, receiving the most votes, 241 (34 percent of total votes cast), and the most 5-star reviews on their Places listing.
In the comments section, john blanchard was one of many readers who praised the barbershop.
"Ive been going to them for nearly a year now and I can honestly say i've never been let down," he said. "I always leave with the cut I came in looking for. Their attention to detail is unmatched. They are very professional and personable and have a really nice shop with a few TV's to watch either a movie or game."
Kelly echoed his support.
"HANDS DOWN SUPERIOR IMAGE!"
On its business listing, the barbershop has 18 reviews, the vast majority of which included 5-star ratings.
Chuck Miranda has "Been going to Superior Image for a while now, and without a doubt the best barber shop around," he said in his review. "Awesome atmosphere, always a movie or a game on! Both barbers, Chris and Jay, are highly skilled and can do any type of cut your looking for. Always a great time when you walk in. Highly recomend getting down to Superior Image for a cut!!!"
Superior Image Barbershop offers trims, cuts, beard shape-ups, straight-edge razor shaves and scalp treatments. Services are available by walk-in on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised to see all the men out in full force voting! That's fantastic!
I do hope tho in the future that 'the powers that be' in the upper echelons of the Patch will see the wisdom in doing a separate Babershop/Salon poll in the future. I realize you see (and have heard repeatedly in comments) the point and I hope the Patch does as well. There were some fantastic comments made for Salons of Melrose and they really deserved the recognition.
Congratulations to Superior Image! (As well as Avenue Hair Design who obviously would have won the Salon race, if there was one ;) )
