Man Grabs Cash From Rite Aid Register
Tuesday, Nov. 30, 8:04 p.m. A Rite Aid Pharmacy employee called Melrose Police to report that she was working the cash register and when the next customer in line came up, he reached over and grabbed money from the cash register that was still open from the last sale, according to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau.
The robber stole approximately $210 in $10 and $20 bills, DeCroteau said. The robber was described as a white male, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds, wearing a gray hoodie, baseball cap, athletic pants and white sneakers. No vehicle was seen and no weapon was shown during the robbery.
Foodmaster Receives Suspicious Phone Call About Money Delivery
Thursday, Dec. 2, 1:30 p.m. An unidentified person called Foodmaster, stating he used to work at the company that handles the store's money deliveries and that "they should take as much security as possible," DeCroteau said. The store manager contacted Melrose Police after receiving the odd phone call; DeCroteau said Foodmaster management believes the call may have come from a former employee. The call is being investigated.
Personal Medical Information Found on Flash Drive in Donated Coat's Pocket
Monday, Nov. 29, 2 p.m. Melrose Police received a call from the Lincoln School regarding a USB flash drive found in the pocket of a coat donated through the school's clothing drive.
After initially thinking that "inapproriate" content was on the drive, DeCroteau said it turned out the drive contained medical information. There was no way of tracing the flash drive back to its owner, he said, as there was no identification on the drive or in the coat.
Other Arrests and Summonses
A 33-year-old Roxbury woman was issued a summons on Wednesday, Dec. 1 on charges of breaking and entering into a building in the nighttime for a felony, and malicious destruction of property worth more than $250.
A 20-year-old Saugus man, 23-year-old Melrose man and 23-year-old Malden man were each issued summonses on Thursday, Dec. 2 on the charge of malicious destruction of property worth more than $250.
A 45-year-old Melrose man was placed under warrant arrest on Friday, Dec. 3 on four warrants.
Jennifer R. Snook, 21, 4 Perham Ave., Melrose, was arrested on Saturday, Dec. 4 on the charge of domestic assault and battery.
A 17-year-old Melrose resident was placed in protective custody on Sunday, Dec. 5.
Trevor Brinsmade, 20, 13 Oriole Court, Shelton, CT, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 5 on charges of OUI liquor (as a minor); possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle; speeding in violation of special regulation; reckless operation of a motor vehicle; marked lanes violation; driving in violation of a license restriction (glassess); failing to wear a seat belt; underage possession of liquor; unreasonable noise in operation of a motor vehicle; and not in possession of a vehicle's registration.
A 23-year-old Peabody man was placed in protective custody on Sunday, Dec. 5.
