Poll Results: Main Street Between Sylvan and Wyoming Has the Worst Cell Phone Reception
That's what the majority of people who took last week's poll said.
Last Thursday, Melrose Patch asked you where the worst spot for cell phone reception was in the city.
Between then and Tuesday afternoon, 34 people took the poll.
The results?
- 13 people (38 percent) said "Main Street between Sylvan and Wyoming. (Including Derby Road and Waverly Place.)"
- 6 people (17 percent) said "Lynn Fells Parkway from Ravine Road to Dunkin Donuts/J.J. Grimsby's."
- 5 people (14 percent) said "Lebanon Street from Wyoming Cemetery to the Malden line."
- Another 5 people (14 percent) said "Washington Street at Pleasant Street."
- And 4 people (11 percent) said "Franklin Street near Stoneham line."
- One person (2 percent) said "Lynn Fells Parkway near Soc's."
- But no one said Malvern Street or Maple Street.
Charles Christiansen commented that "When we had AT&T, we dropped calls all the time at our house (which falls in Option 1 in the poll). We're both on Sprint now, and things have been much better with them."
Ann McCarthy said that she lives in a "house divided." "With AT&T, the back of our house has horrible reception but the front of the house if fine. I've actually dropped calls walking between rooms in the house!"
