Reports: Two-Alarm Fire on Lynde Street in Melrose

The ‘heavy fire’ was on the second floor of a duplex, according to police scanner reports.

 

Melrose firefighters were called to 18 Lynde St. at about 6:30 p.m. this evening for a report of “heavy fire” on the second floor of a duplex, according to police scanner reports.

The two-alarm fire was knocked down by crews about 15 minutes later, according to the reports. Firefighters from Wakefield, Reading, Malden, Everett, Revere and Saugus all assisted, according to Mike Moura, @NEFirebuff on Twitter.

The two-and-a-half-story duplex at 18 Lynde St. is white with black shutters and about a block down from Main Street.

It was Lynde St, not Ave. Lynde Ave is off of West Wyoming.
