The Melrose Symphony Orchestra, the oldest continuing volunteer orchestra in the United States, held its opening fall concert Saturday night at Memorial Hall. Owen Young (cello) and Lucia Lin (violin) from the Boston Symphony Orchestra volunteered to play with Melrose at the concert.

Both musicians explain what brought them to Melrose and Conductor Yoichi Udagawa gives his thoughts on why a volunteer orchestra is important for Melrose.
