This past Saturday, I had a break through of sorts. You see, I had bought myself a backpack geared towards photography a few months back, but I hadn't actually used it.
Mostly, it was used to store my photography gear.
I was going to do my normal routine and bring just my Canon and two lenses with me, but for some reason I decided that bringing all of my gear was a must this go around. I think it might have something to do with my last trip into Boston.
During that last trip I met quite a few photographers, who were just hanging out and shooting. Part of the reason why I recognized what they were, was because of their backpacks. I know it sounds weird, but it got me thinking that I was limiting myself in the shots I take, because not everything was going with me.
I had bought a unique lens awhile back called a "Lensbaby", that is a creative lens, because you can get some unique results with it. The problem was, I never really brought it anywhere with me. It just stayed in the bag.
This time it went with me, along with the rest of my gear. I'm really happy that I brought it, because I think from now on this will be the new rule that I have. Unless I'm going somewhere specific, with a shot in mind, all of my gear is going with me from now on.
As for the trip into Boston: I really didn't concentrate on street photography this go around, because we got a really late start and by the time we got there, the sun was starting to set.
I could have gotten out my flash to take some photos, but I don't think I'm at the point of going up to a stranger and blasting a flash in their face for a shot. Not yet anyhow... give me some time.
I hope that everyone has had a fantastical Monday!!!
