On February 2, Hannah Aveni (goalie) and Jill Mercer (Shooter) represented the
Melrose Youth Hockey girls program participating in the Mini One on One shoot
out sponsored by the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden.  Ten teams went three
rounds each to secure spots in the finals where Hannah and Jill made it to the
final four that will be broadcast in between periods during an upcoming Boston
Bruins game.  Hannah plays for the Melrose PeeWee A team, Girls U12-1 team and
the Islanders U12 Majors, Jill plays for the Melrose Peewee A team and the Girls
U12-1.  This is the fourth year that the MYH girls program has participated in
this coveted event.
