Please join us from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Roosevelt Elementary School for a neighborhood public safety meeting for residents of Wards 1 and 2.
The meeting will be an opportunity to discuss public safety concerns throughout the city, but primarily with a focus on those issues specific to Wards 1 and 2.
This session will be co-hosted by Mayor Rob Dolan, Melrose Police Chief Mike Lyle, Ward 1 Alderman John Tramontozzi and myself.
We will hear from Chief Lyle and representatives from the Police Department who will update us on department initiatives, but this is also an opportunity for you to express your concerns and ask questions relative to these issues. This could be anything from traffic issues (think speeding and crosswalks) to break-ins or efforts to reduce drug use.
Bring your questions, gripes and suggestions. We want to hear from you!
If you can't make it, please feel free to reach out to me at MelroseMonica@gmail.com, and I will do my best to pass along your concerns.
I hope you can make it Tuesday night.

To give everyone an idea of where Wards 1 & 2 are, we are talking about the northern most portion of the city, including part of Main St. Howard St., Franklin St. and the Lynn Fells Parkway. Ward 1 is the northwest corner of the city and includes in general the Roosevelt School area including Melrose Highlands. Ward 2 is the northeast corner of the city and covers mostly everything from the north side of Porter St to the Wakefield & Saugus lines including the Horace Mann area, Franklin Square and the Melrose Towers. The best way to find out what ward you are in is as Meg posted above http://www.wheredoivotema.com.
