Sock Drive for Soldiers a Success!

On behalf of the Melrose Republican City Committee, I’d like to thank all those who donated socks for our soldiers serving overseas either at our Meet the Candidates night or at one of the many businesses who participated around Melrose.
We especially would like to thank the merchants who participated in our drive and hosted drop off locations leading up to and throughout the Memorial Day holiday. They include:
- Coffee, Tea and Me
- Starbucks
- Whittemore Hardware
- Melrose Army Navy store
- Foodmaster
- Bohemian Coffeehouse
As a result of your generosity, we were able to send hundreds of socks to our men and women soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
Maureen Grant who co-chaired this effort along with Kathy Richard, said it best, “even though this seems like a small act or contribution, it's important to know that your efforts are abundantly appreciated by your community and the soldiers.”
