DESCRIPTION:The City of Melrose is pleased to celebrate the legacy of the
  Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.&nbsp\; This year's event will&nbs
 p\;feature The Honorable Gordon A. Martin\, Jr.&nbsp\;\nJudge Martin&nbs
 p\;will discuss his experience in the South during the Civil Rights Move
 ment\, as chronicled in his book\, Count&nbsp\;Them&nbsp\;One by One: Bl
 ack Mississippians Fighting for the Right to Vote.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Judge Ma
 rtin's&nbsp\;book will be available for purchase at the event.\nFifty ye
 ars ago\, Judge Martin was a&nbsp\;27 year-old attorney for the United S
 tates Justice Department assigned to investigate widespread voting right
 s violations in Mississippi.&nbsp\; His investigation led to the landmar
 k Voting Rights&nbsp\;Act of 1965.&nbsp\;\nThe event is free and open to
  the public\, beginning with a Potluck Dinner at 5 p.m.&nbsp\; For those
  who wish to attend the dinner\,&nbsp\;the event committee&nbsp\;asks th
 at you bring a main dish or dessert to serve 4-6 people with ingredients
  identified on an index card.&nbsp\; The Family Program\, which includes
  Judge Martin&rsquo\;s remarks as well as a short music program\, will s
 tart at 6 p.m.&nbsp\; Activities for young children will be offered duri
 ng the Keynote.\nThe event&nbsp\;is sponsored by the Mayor's Office\, th
 e Melrose Human Rights Commission\, the Melrose Clergy Association\, the
  Melrose Alliance Against Violence\, the Melrose Chamber of Commerce\, T
 he League of Women Voters of Melrose and Hallmark Health.&nbsp\;
