The Melrose High School Drama Club presents, “The Complete History of America (abridged)” written by Adam Long, Reed Martin, and Austin Tichenor. The show will be performed at the Melrose Performing Arts Center, located at the Melrose Middle School, 350 Lynn Fells Parkway in Melrose, MA. “The Complete History of America (abridged)” will run the weekend of November 30th and December 1st, with performances on Friday November 30th at 7:30pm, and on Saturday December 1st at 2:00pm and 7:30pm. The show is directed by MHS seniors Emily Heath, Sarah Ried, Caroline Butts, Raquel Doucette, and Allie Grady along with the Drama Club advisor Mr. Timothy J. Daly, a 2002 MHS graduate. This fun-for-all-ages comedy is a ninety minute adventure through the major events of American History. Tickets can be purchased the day of the show at the box office outside the auditorium. Students and senior tickets will be $7 and adult tickets $10. Refreshments will be sold during intermission.

The most modern public building in Melrose, the new Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School (MVMMS) opened in 2007. Except for a handicapped ramp constructed in 1987 and a renovation of the auditorium completed in 1999, the original middle school - originally Melrose High School - had no significant renovations since it was built in 1933.

Today, under the stewardship of Principal Tom Brow, the middle schools offers 24 student clubs and activities and 14 intramural sports. The school was awarded a Spotlight School award by the New England League of Middle Schools in 2008.
