FAMILIAR FACES AT THE BEEBE NOVEMBER PHOTOGRAPHY AND  FINE CRAFT SHOW

Regular attendees at the monthly Beebe art openings will find some familiar faces but in a new configuration as five artisans combine their talents for the November month-long show at the Beebe Estate, 235 West Foster Street, Melrose.

Melrose photographer Michelle Boulogne will showcase her compelling images from Mexico and the western United States, desirable acquisitions that she is making available in gifts and keepsakes in a 2013 calendar, all-occasion cards and matted prints suitable for framing.

She and fellow photographer Thom  Ciulla have previously partnered at the Beebe to exhibit their inspiring   photos, which depict their individual perspectives of life.  Thom is also a personal fitness trainer / instructor   and a teacher of photography in Melrose.  His work has been seen at the Melrose Arts Festival. Thom’s varied interests and world travel photographs will be reflected in the art he brings to this show.

Katie Kinnealey, also from Melrose and a 2011 graduate of the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, debuts her glassworks in her first public showing.  Glassblowers engage in one of the art world’s most challenging and dangerous forms of artistic expression, and Kinnealey pursues her vision in intense hands-on workshops at NOCA Glass School in Cambridge and the Massachusetts College of Art in Boston.  She brings her distinct view of nature and life as seen through the eyes and hands of a visionary glassblower.

Lorrie DiCesare, owner of Hourglass Gallery and a person who has done much to promote the arts and local artists in the Melrose community for over a decade, will be showing newer pieces of her LOMA design jewelry…organic, funky jewelry which is sold throughout the U.S., that has appeal for all ages.  Lorrie is always experimenting with new techniques in enameling and new shapes she designs in metals.

Deb Haney, Artful Indulgence, whose work has been seen at past Beebe, Hourglass and  Artisan Alley exhibits, as well as in galleries and shows in Mass., California, and R.I., can be counted on to come up with new and unusual jewelry and adornments for home, person and garden.  She enjoys working with multiple techniques and materials, so look for some new and usual designs.   Haney and DiCesare’s jewelry is also sold locally through “noa” Fine Gifts &Handcrafts two locations in West Concord and Charles Street, Beacon Hill, Boston.

The opening reception will be Friday, Nov. 2nd from 7 to 9 pm.  Because the show traditionally continues each Saturday throughout the month from 11 am-3 pm, the group has decided to add some spice to the mix and feature a “back room” bonus show on the four Saturdays.  They will be showing some additional works from their archives, as well as one- of- a- kind surprises.   So be sure to attend both the opening and additional Saturdays to see what new items have been added each week.  This is a great opportunity for unique holiday gifts and adornments for your home.
