October is national child health month and thanks to the leadership of Robert Dolan, Mayor of the City of Melrose, it will also be “Melrose in Motion” month! During the month of October, there are more than 50 Eat Better, Move More events open to the community. The Melrose YMCA is excited to offer a Zumba Workout Under the Lights on the Melrose High School Football Field on Tuesday, October 16th at 7pm. Zumba is an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness party. This is a FREE community Zumba class and is great for all ages. Please use entrance by the middle school or gates by Morelli Field. Tremont St. gates are for emergency entrance/exit only.
Additionally, the Melrose YMCA is offering FREE Family Fitness Fridays during the month of October. Adults and families can use the Y free for the day. For information on open swim or group exercise schedules, check out www.melroseymca.org.

More About Fred Green Field
This field hosts the majority of the Melrose High School athletic teams. Track, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer and football teams all call Fred Green Field home. The grass field is situated directly behind Melrose High School on Tremont Street.
The 400-meter track circles the football field, and adjacent to the field, is a practice area for the Melrose teams. Don't worry about eating at the game, as the concession stand located at the far end of the field is always well-stocked.
Parking on Tremont Street is limited to one side, so you may try parking at the high school for athletic events.
