Week One Close & Info on *FREE* Yoga!

Amie completes week one of the Challenge.

One week down, three to go!

Wednesday was the first day since I started the Challenge that I had to go into the office to work. I got in before 8am and let my boss know I had to leave by 4:30. Now that I'm used to working from home most days, I find my in-office days excruciating and exhausting.... commuting, running from meeting to meeting, having to smile/grimace through people's BS, etc. Adding yoga on top of that?? Nerve-wracking!

I was Indeed tired by the end of the day. I feel asleep on the Orange Line between Back Bay and Oak Grove and wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed. I powered through though. I stopped off at my apartment to change, wash my face and feed Coco.

Again I got to class at 6pm and evidently my evil wish came true; it was much less crowded than the previous 5 days. Class was good, challenging but in that good way. I enjoyed one of my favorite mini meals - 1/2 gluten free French roll, slice Gouda cheese, avocado, hummus, sprouts - and a glass of wine before bed. Eight hours later I did the whole thing over again. These night-then-morning classes are tough!

Note to self: next week try to do more mornings. But I find the classes are getting...."easier" isn't the right word, but not as miserable with the heat/humidity/crowd. I find myself sweating sooner and harder. I'm going deeper into postures. There's definitely something to be said about the repetitiveness of going every day.

The best part about Thurdsay is knowing I had Friday off from work. I was looking forward to sleeping in, attending the 9:30 class, having a leisurely lunch with Melinda at the Organic Garden Cafe in Beverly (amazing, healthy, delish - even my fiancé thought so! I highly recommend checking this place out) before heading into Boston for a haircut/color and then enjoying a relaxing night home.

Things haven't panned out exactly to plan (do they ever?) I ended up getting in bed pretty early (I knew the refs wouldn't let the sponsor down by killing a Game 7) so woke up in time for the 7:30am class.... Melinda got sick this week so canceled lunch... I squeezed a massage into my relaxing day (while a relaxing activity in itself, I have a feeling I will be running, stressed, from massage to haircut).

Still, I'm loving life. The sun is shining. I'm enjoying a cashew latte and raw trail mix cereal in almond milk while typing this blog. So... Have I inspired anyone to get their sweat on?
