Horace Mann Playground Fundraiser - A Great Success!
n February 7th, members of the Horace Mann Playground Committee welcomed more than 200 friends, neighbors and community members to the HM 007 Casino Royale Fundraiser. The event, held at Memorial Hall, was an adult evening out to raise needed funds to rebuild the Horace Mann Playground. Early estimates project a need for approximately $70,000 for the new playground. We are extremely excited to report that more than $13,000 was raised from this event for the new playground!
The success of the event in large part, can be attributed to our local, Main Street businesses. Stephen's Auto Body & Towing, our premiere sponsor, and many of the businesses got creative and provided goods and services that brought the event to life. Special thanks to Melrose Oriental Rug for the red carpet and oriental rug donation, Madison Avenue of Melrose for dressing our models, Pepperberry Florist for the elegant floral arrangements, MelMadden Photography for capturing the evening, and Lorenzo Tenreiro for the delicious hors d'oeuvre's from La Qchara and overseeing the kitchen!
As a community, we need to remember to shop locally and return the thanks for all of the donations our Main Street businesses kindly and so graciously provide to us year after year.
