Lucas Opens New Law Firm in Melrose

Melrose native David R. Lucas has opened a new law firm, Lucas Law Group LLC, calling it the “next generation” law firm with a mission to improve the lives and futures of its clients.  Lucas, who is also special litigation counsel to the City of Melrose, said he created the new firm with the idea that people deserve an attorney who can see beyond their immediate legal issues and support their larger personal and business aspirations.

“Everyone has hopes for the future, and handling legal matters is often just one step on the path to success.  At Lucas Law Group, we are a next-generation firm that sees our clients as people with dreams and aspirations, not simply as case files.  Our firm will be a trusted confidante that understands each person’s ultimate goal as we manage the legal process,” said Lucas, a graduate of Suffolk University Law School and Syracuse University.

Lucas Law Group LLC, located at One Nelson Terrace in Melrose, will serve the North Shore, handling most areas of civil law including real estate, business and corporate law, probate, estate planning, elder law and serious personal injury. As a new firm, Lucas Law Group will utilize the very latest technology to improve customer service and case efficiency.

In addition to serving the City of Melrose, Lucas is a public administrator for Middlesex County, having been appointed by the past three governors to administer the estates of the deceased with no heirs.  Lucas also provides legal services to non-profit organizations.  He is general counsel to the Grand Lodge of Masons in Massachusetts, handling all transactions and litigation, and he incorporated the Melrose PTO, Inc., a charitable organization designed to allow the city’s individual PTO’s to accept tax-deductible donations.

Lucas is the second generation in his family to practice law.  He follows in the footsteps of his father, the late Robert F. Lucas, who practiced for nearly 50 years at Wakefield’s Nigro, Pettepit & Lucas, LLP, where David most recently worked.

David Lucas and his wife Melissa live in Melrose with their two children.  David Lucas is active in the community, including as trustee of the Melrose High School Permanent Scholarship Fund, director of Congregational Retirement Homes, Inc., corporator of The Savings Bank in Wakefield, and a youth basketball coach.
