Melrose Americans Baseball Club

The Melrose Americans of the semi-pro Intercity Baseball League are looking for a sponsor or multiple sponsors.

After 40 years calling Medford home, the Americans' franchise moved to Melrose and Morelli Field in 2013. The Americans are the first Intercity League team to call Melrose home since the Gately Rams franchise disbanded at the close of the 2004 season.

The 2013 season saw the Americans welcomed by the city and cheered on by Melrose residents, many of whom had never before seen an Intercity League game, along with others who never missed a game during the years when the Rams were in existence.

The Rams were founded and sponsored by Dr. Richard Morelli in 1985. When Dr. Morelli retired to Florida, the Rams' sponsorship was picked up by John Gately of the Gately Funeral Home.

From 1985 until the team disbanded, the Rams were one of the league's premier team. The many fans who filled Morelli Field for every home game were treated to a top notch brand of winning amateur baseball.

The Americans are striving to reach that same level of success and to once again make a game at Morelli Field a must attend event for Melrose families.

If you would like to discuss the possibility of sponsoring the Melrose Americans, please call Kevin Burgoyne, the team's owner and manager, at 781-866-1488 or send an email to americansbaseball@comcast.net.
