Melrose English Conversation Projects needs Volunteers

For several years the Melrose Human Rights Commission has sponsored a program to help English language learners improve their speaking and listening skills.

Volunteers are needed to partner with speakers of other languages.  Volunteers  set their own schedule with their partner and meeting space is available by reservation at the Melrose Public Library. No formal training is needed.  Partners meet for informal English conversation usually once per week at the library, a coffee shop or other agreed upon location.  Some partners enjoy walking down Main Street or going to a grocery store to learn about Melrose and to practice vocabulary needed to interact with local merchants.

This is a great way to meet new people, learn about different cultures and provide valuable assistance helping others to feel welcome and actively participate in our community.
