Statement on government shutdown, impact on WIC

Oct. 8, 2013 – North Suburban WIC (Women, Infants and Children), part of Hallmark Health System, would like to assure all of its clients that the government shutdown will not have an immediate impact on services and would like to share the following message from Massachusetts WIC Director Judy Hause.

“Although we are concerned about the federal government shutdown, there will be no immediate impact on the services delivered by the Massachusetts WIC Program. At this time, a full complement of WIC services is being provided. Your WIC program is open for business and all WIC checks are being accepted at grocery stores and pharmacies. Please report any issues redeeming your checks at the grocery store/pharmacy to your local WIC program. To receive the most up-to-date information on the impact of the shutdown on WIC, you can follow us on Twitter @MassWIC. We will continue to carefully monitor the situation and inform you of any changes.”
