West Wyoming Market is now a Mass in Motion Healthy Market!

Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield is proud to announce that the West Wyoming Market is now a Mass in Motion Healthy Market.

An initiative of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the City of Melrose and Town of Wakefield Health Departments, the Mass in Motion Healthy Market Program works with local convenience store owners to make healthy food and drink options more readily available. By promoting healthy options, the local markets are helping to make healthy choices easier for families.

Maureen Buzby, the Mystic Valley Tobacco/Alcohol Program Coordinator and Showers’ fellow Health Department colleague, noticed store improvements including the addition of fresh fruits and vegetables and encouraged Showers to take a look at the many positive changes that had been implemented at the store.

“Kudos to the hard work of West Wyoming Market personnel!  The store looks like it was redone and the healthy food and beverage options are plentiful.” said Showers, Mass in Motion-Melrose/Wakefield Program Coordinator.

Please patronize the West Wyoming Market at 49 West Wyoming Avenue.  One can find grab-and-go items such as apples and low-fat yogurt, as well as lower sugar breakfast cereals options and oatmeal.  Stop by to browse these selections and much more.

West Wyoming Market joins Melrose Shell and Common Market as the third Healthy Corner Store in Melrose.
