5 Things You Need To Know Today—Friday, June 22

Teen Center open tonight; food pantry open on Fridays; stuff to do this weekend.

1) You called down the thunder, well now you've got it! Well, maybe. A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind around 6 mph becoming south. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Tonight, a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1am. Patchy fog after 5 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. West wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. (Forecast by the National Weather Service.)

2) Common Ground (Get It Going On): Old school! The Common Ground Teen Center is (no admittance after 9) for students in Grades 6-9. There is a $3 fee for entry and all persons attending must complete a waiver on the website, at the Melrose YMCA (497 Main St.) or at the Sports Center on Tremont Street.

3) Your servant, don't forsake him, strike, dear mistress, and cure his heart: Really old school. A Servant's Heart Food Pantry offers emergency food not only to Melrose, but to the surrounding communities as well. Partnered with St. Mary's in Melrose, the pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (On the third Friday of the month, the pantry is also open from 5 to 6 p.m.)
