1) Finally it's happened to me: That strange yet familiar yellow-orange globe in the sky that appeared yesterday? We might see even more of it today! (Finally.) A slight chance of showers between noon and 1 p.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. West wind around 14 mph. 2) Mamaaaaaa, yoo hoo? Everything's better with Muppets. Mother's Day is Sunday. Make sure to check out our round-up (as chosen by Patch readers) of the , and here are some Mother's Day events happening this weekend:

• The . Flowers will be on sale Friday 3-7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at both the K of C Hall at 23 West Foster Street and in front of the YMCA. Additionally, flowers will be on sale on Sunday 8 a.m.-noon at the K of C Hall and at the Melrose Run For Women at Pine Banks.

• The YMCA is hosting a , $10 per family, on Saturday at 10 a.m. Kids will learn how to make their own fresh flower arrangement to give Mom for Mother’s Day.

• , a Melrose Mother's Day tradition, is Sunday at 9 a.m. A portion of your entry fee is donated to the Melrose Alliance Against Violence.

3) Working at the car wash, yeah: The MHS Boys Soccer team is holding a car wash in the MHS parking lot tomorrow from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Get your vehicle spiffed up and support the team.
