Teen Beauty Boot Camp; Tootsie's celebrates first anniversary with cupcakes; MHS building design subcommittee meets about science labs.

1) Every day hot and sunny. Hot and sunny every day. Isn't that neat? Can't really link to where that quote comes from—this is a family show. Sunny today with a high near 84. 2) Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope: the beauty cafe is running this summer from noon-2 p.m., for ages 12-15. Participants learn appropriate makeup technique as well as how to take care of sensitive teen skin. They also get lunch, a free gift and 10 percent off their purchases that day.

3) I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling: If you're willing to go over the border into Greenwood, Tootsie's Coffee Corner at 969 Main St. in Wakefield is with a cupcake eating contest in three age groups, karaoke, prizes, and cupcake tattoos and coloring pages for our younger crowd.

4) Weird science: The Melrose High School Building Design Subcommittee meets today at 9 a.m. in the superintendent's conference room. On the agenda is review of the preliminary layout options for the and selecting a preferred option.
