2) Those who find beautiful meanings in beautiful things are the cultivated. For these there is hope: the beauty cafe is running this summer from noon-2 p.m., for ages 12-15. Participants learn appropriate makeup technique as well as how to take care of sensitive teen skin. They also get lunch, a free gift and 10 percent off their purchases that day.

3) I love those cupcakes like McAdams loves Gosling: If you're willing to go over the border into Greenwood, Tootsie's Coffee Corner at 969 Main St. in Wakefield is with a cupcake eating contest in three age groups, karaoke, prizes, and cupcake tattoos and coloring pages for our younger crowd.

4) Weird science: The Melrose High School Building Design Subcommittee meets today at 9 a.m. in the superintendent's conference room. On the agenda is review of the preliminary layout options for the and selecting a preferred option.
