5 Things You Need To Know Today—Wednesday, May 2

Art presentation and discussion; mandatory pre-prom speaker; Roosevelt PTO meeting.

1) Sun came bursting through my cloud: A chance of drizzle before 9 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. East wind between 9 and 13 mph. 2) Lord knows I made crying an art, woe is a slow healing heart: Melrose Arts hosts a free evening, presentation and discussion at the . Schulte will show slides from her traveling exhibit called "The Pink Chair Project." Her paintings pay homage to her mother who passed away last year. She uses a pink Adirondack chair as a metephor for her Mom and incorporates it in her paintings done in Maine. Lynne will discuss the power of art as a healing process that has helped her overcome personal grief.

3) I send a message, and I hope it gets through: The annual Melrose High School pre-prom speaker is tonight. Pre-registration starts at 6:30 pm. The program is mandatory for all students and parents and will be held in the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School auditorium.

4) Is my education who I am now: The Roosevelt PTO holds their monthly meeting in the school cafeteria tonight at 7 p.m. The meeting is open to all Roosevelt parents and teachers.
