5 Things You Need To Know Today—Thursday, June 14

1) I can see clearly now the rain is gone: Mostly sunny today, with a high near 71. Northeast wind between 10 and 14 mph. Mostly clear, with a low around 54. North wind between 5 and 7 mph. (Forecast by the National Weather Service.)

2) Every day I write the book: As part of the Melrose Public Library's Author's Corner series, Page (pictured) is the author of the Faith Fairchild mysteries, the first of which, The Body in the Belfry, received the Agatha Award for best first mystery. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and son. Books will be available for purchase and signing courtesy of Haley Booksellers.

3) This one went to market: The Sally Frank's Farmers' Market . Today, Steve Violette from Dick's Market Garden will be at the market giving a talk on his farming practices of integrated pest management. He will also provide information for people to take back to their own backyard farms. He will give a talk at 2 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. Neighborhood Health Plan will be set up as our non-profit this week. They will provide informaiton on how they provide health insurance to those who cannot afford it. Finally,"DADGAG Rick" Gottlieb will play live accoustic guitar from 4-6 p.m.

4) Oh dear Dad, can you see me now, I am myself, like you somehow: Join the Milano Senior Center as they honor our dads—for their love and the lessons they have taught us—with a The menu will consist of broccoli stuffed chicken with gravy, whipped butternut squash, red bliss potatoes, dinner roll, and raspberry mousse with mini chocolate chips. Golden Living will add to the celebration with a little something special for each man in attendance! And back by popular demand, the big band tunes of Jim Porcella, sponsored by Home Instead Senior Health. There is a $2 requested donation to cover the cost of lunch. To make a reservation for lunch or a ride, please call 781-662-6886. A $1 one-way donation is requested for the ride.
