E-ZPass Transponder Sign Up Sessions
MassDOT is offering E-ZPass transponder sign up sessions in Saugus and Chelsea.
MassDOT is encouraging motorists to join E-ZPass as they transition into All-Electronic Tolling on the Tobin Bridge.
The E-ZPass Street Team will be enrolling new customers in the E-ZPass program throughout the region in the next few weeks. E-ZPass is free to join and customers will receive a transponder onsite.
Customers with an E-ZPass can proceed through designated E-ZPass lanes at toll plazas without stopping or fumbling for cash because the toll is collected electronically through the transponder attached to the windshield.

Later this month, tolls will start being collected electronically through the E-ZPass transponder or via a “pay-by-plate” system, where an image of a license plate is taken and an invoice will be sent to the address listed on the vehicle registration. Therefore, vehicles will no longer stop at a toll to pay cash.
In addition to the sign up sessions, you may also join E-ZPass online at www.Mass.gov/EZPassMA or by phone, 877-627-7745,. Transponders are also available at Registry of Motor Vehicle branches and from AAA.
