Payson Park Music Festival

  • Where/When: Payson Park, Belmont/Wednesday, Aug. 31, 6:15 p.m.
  • Why Go: In this last concert of the series, check out the Navy Band Northeast’s “Rhode Island Sound” – bring a picnic and the whole family!
  • Pricing: Free

  • Where/When: Stone Zoo, Stoneham/Daily, 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. until Sept. 5
  • Why Go: See some stunning raptors, feel the wind from the birds’ wings as they zoom over your head, and even learn a thing or two about recycling!

Bike/Walk/Ride/Roll the Minuteman Bikeway

  • Where/When: Alewife T Station, Cambridge to Bedford/Every Day, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Why Go: Pump up your bike tires, strap on your helmets, put on those skates or jogging shoes, or hitch up the bike trailer – this bikeway offers a beautiful and mostly traffic free way for your family to get outside and get some exercise.

Explore The Wizard of Oz

  • Where/When: Boston Children’s Museum, Boston/Every Day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays until 9 p.m.
  • Why Go: See the world that Dorothy explores first-hand, with this interactive display of scenes from the movie, Dorothy’s red slippers, and more!
  • Pricing: Free with Museum Admission

  • Where/When: Stellabella Toys, Inman Square, Cambridge/Saturday, Sept. 3, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
