Hot Off the T: Bruins Hockey, White Rabbits, and Marathon Carbo-Loading

Head down to Oak Grove this week and jump on the Orange Line to head to these events, all within walking distance of a T stop.

1) It’s playoff hockey season, and the Bruins are off to a good start, beating the Washington Capitals 1-0 in overtime Thursday night. It’s nigh impossible to get a ticket to Game 2 through legal channels, but you can take part in the playoff atmosphere around the TD Garden at several Boston landmarks, including The Fours, Sullivan’s Tap and Halftime Pizza. The game starts at 3 p.m. Saturday, but it’s a safe bet the revelry starts well before then. Take the Orange Line to North Station.

2) The good folks at Improv Asylum know how to bring the funny. You can check out their latest effort, “Siri, Can You Title Our Show For Us?” at the group’s main stage on Hanover Street. Tickets are $22 for the 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday shows. Take the Orange Line to Haymarket and walk four minutes to Improv Asylum.

3) Indie darling White Rabbits takes to the Paradise stage Saturday night. Advance tickets for the Saturday show are $15. Doors open at 8 p.m.. Take the Green Line B to Pleasant Street and walk one minute to the Paradise.

4) Sure, carbo-loading may not be as useful for runners as once believed, but it’s still a great tradition the Sunday before the Boston Marathon. If you aren’t able to get into the city’s official pasta dinner, try dinner at a downtown eatery instead. The is offering several carb-rich dinner specials to help runners run and the rest of us watch from our couches. Take the Orange Line to Downtown Crossing and walk 15 minutes to the bistro.

5) Of course, pasta’s not the only comfort food on the menu Sunday night. host every Sunday. Enjoy the $1 oysters and $3.50 Narragansett tall boys while they last.  Please note the event starts at 8 p.m.. Take the Orange Line to Tufts Medical Center and walk nine minutes to the restaurant.
