Here is the Melrose Storm Center where we will be posting updates related to the snowstorm:

11 p.m.: The decision came in late Tuesday night, but Melrose Public Schools will have a two-hour delay Wednesday, according to the mayor's blog.

4 p.m.: The following is an update from the mayor's blog:

It looks like overnight and in the morning we will have periods of intense snow and very strong winds with temperatures dropping to the low single digits. DPW will be in full plow operation overnight with over 70 pieces of equipment, but there will be very strong winds. If you have to go to work (Wednesday) please allow ample time as the winds will cause the snow to drift and visibility will be low,

The Superintendent of Schools will probably wait till (Wednesday) morning to make the call on whether to delay or cancel school, in consultation with DPW and other districts. When the news is announced we will post it, so follow this blog and the City of Melrose as well as local TV and radio affiliates.

2 p.m.: Here are some snowstorm-related updates, according to Mayor Rob Dolan's blog:

  • We are expecting 8-10 inches of snow this evening.
  • There will be an on-street parking ban from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 8 a.m. Wednesday.
  • Trash and recycling will be picked up on a regular (holiday) schedule with no additional delay.
  • The Melrose Public Library will close at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
  • The Melrose Community Dinner is canceled Tuesday.
  • The Board of Aldermen and Veterans Services Advisory Board meetings Tuesday night have been canceled.
  • City Hall will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
  • No announcement has been made yet regarding schools.
  • All snow-related calls should be directed to the Snow Operations Center, 781-665-0142, which will be staffed all night.

11 a.m.: Mayor's Community Dinner has been canceled Tuesday night.
